Welcome to the website of Andrew Thorn
www.andrewthorn.net
I'm a theatre writer, director and performer - a drama college graduate with a BA in community theatre arts and a post graduate in theatre studies. I've written plays, teachers' packs and educational CD-ROMs for schools.
Now I'm trying my hand at writing novels, and so far it's going very well... My first novel, Killjoy, has won the Kinglake Unpublished Author competition for thrillers. My second, Gravelight, has won second place in the 2010 YouWriteOn Children's Book of the Year competition. So I thought I'd better get a writing website together, quick.
This is a temporary website, while I sort out all the techie side of things. Keep an eye on this web address - as my career as a novelist continues I'll make this site really swish: expect greatness!
Oh yeah, and I've also taught residential drama and video summer schools in London, and been physical theatre artist-in-residence at a well known amusement park.
For the past twenty-one years I've worked with my wife Jan (who writes as Jan Adams), creating innovative theatre for schools across the UK. In that time we have worked with over half a million children! We've also written and presented dozens of plays for museums and heritage venues such as the Natural History Museum, Warwick Castle and the RNLI.
